We recently found a 2006 Whitecliff Vineyards Malbec in the ol' wine cellar. The grapes that were use in this wine were sourced from Long Island. The wine was 6 years old and still standing. I must have been so shocked at how well the wine stood up I forgot to take a picture.
The wine was showing its age with its brickish color. Aromas of cherry, cedar, blackberry and plum filled the glass. The wine was nice and smooth on the palate and nicely balanced. Flavors of dark fruit and plum filled your mouth.
I served this with a smoked brisket and it was wonderful!

To test decent wine and champagne, you're able to visit this http://www.classewines.com/t-australia-wines.aspx, or you can only examine it.
