Verdejo for Summer
The vineyard covers 250 acres with soils comprised of small stone and sand followed by a layer of clay and a subsoil of limestone. There are 138 acres planted to Verdejo and the vineyards are farmed sustainably.
The grapes are harvested at night and enter the winery at naturally cool temperatures. They receive a short skin maceration of 4-6 hours and are softly pressed in a pneumatic press. Fermentation is in stainless steel vats for 3-4 weeks.
The region has very hot and dry summers but the temps drop significantly in the evening. There were 20,000 cases of this wine produced.
Aromas of peach and apricot fill the glass. Nice balanced acidity with jasmine spice and a lime finish. This is a nice crisp enjoyable summer wine that is both tasty and affordable. It retails for approximately $12.99
