Cotes du Rhone 2010 La Petite Fontaine

This Cotes du Rhone La Petite Fontaine is made by Christian Voeux Winemaker and GM at Chateau La Nerthe in Chateauneuf du Pape.  The wine is a blend of carefully selected grapes from around the countryside of the Southern Cotes du Rhone region where the main soils are stony clay and limestone.

This wine is a blend of 60% Grenache noir, 20% Syrah, 15% Cinsault and 5% Carignan.  The wine was aged in stainless steel tanks on fine lies for 14 months.

A beautiful nose of blackberry, currants and hits of violets leads to a palate of dark fruit. The wine is very well rounded and fruit forward with flavors of blackberry, ripe dark fruit with a hint of Asian spice.

The wine is priced at approximately $13.
