Tasting at Kedem Winery

When I stopped at Kedem for a wine tasting, I had the opportunity to taste 9 wines and my first wine from Israel. Here is what I jotted down after each taste.

Kedem Estates Classic NY Red Table Wine - N/V
grapey, and red fruit. Floral notes on the nose. I believe this red table wine is made from Vincent and Baco Noir.

Teal Lake 2008 Cabernet /Merlot Blend  - Australia
This wine  is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon and 49% Merlot.   Flavors of  plum and dark fruit with medium tannins

Barkan 2006 Shiraz, Dan, Israel.  This was my first wine I've tasted from Israel.  A lot of black fruit on this wine, both aroma and palate with hints of cassis on the nose.

2010 Weinstock Cellars, California Petit Sirah.  This has a nice deep purple color with strong violet aromas.    Strong black fruit notes with dark chocolate on the palate giving way strong tannins and a nice black pepper finish.

Kedem Estates White Table Wine - NYS fruit from the Finger Lakes.  Floral, flowerly and fruity.

Jeunesse 2009 Chardonnay , Oxnard CA.  This is a semi dry Chardonnay.   You can smell the sweetness in the glass.   Flavors of pear , honeydew melon and slight hint of citrus  on the palate.

2010 Chateneuf Semi-Dry White Bordeaux Wine - light and fresh and slightly sweet. This is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon.

Kedem Cream White.  This wine is made with 100% Concord grapes.  Yes to me it tasted like white grape juice.

Kedem Port - New York State - This is jammy ripe berries with hints of raisin on the nose.  Light red fruit with hints of raisin on the palate

Kedem 1978 Port Wine.  This wine has been barrel aged for 27 years.   Aromas of raisin and oak.    Luscious black fruit fills the palate  and it had a little grapey flavors towards the finish.

Bartenura Moscato I didn't get to taste, but they told me it is their best seller.
