Other Wines in the House - 2006 Goosecross Syrah

This 2006 Goosecross Syrah is 100% Napa Valley Syrah that was aged in oak for 16 months.  It was harvested in September 2006 and bottled June 4, 2008.  There were 679 cases made and a few of these bottles arrive on my doorstep via Mr. UPS in my wineclub shipment.

This rich dark wine began with a dark berry nose, hints of dark chocolate and earth.  This wine rich in flavors of boysenberry, plum and red bing cherry has a wonderful mouth feel with slight tannins.  The finish is my favorite!  A little spice - black pepper softly explodes on the finish and lingers on your palate.

This wine will warm your body on a nice cold winter night with slow cooked short ribs or stew.
