Whoever is behind this site clearly doesn't know much about wine. 95 for that Traminette?

Do you know who is behind the site? There isn't any information about the owner or the "staff"

Maybe it's some of the region's winemakers?

Anonymous: The person behind WinesNY.com is Alvin Lewis.

Have you had that Traminette yourself? I haven't, so I'd not be so arrogant as to assume I know anything about it.

Some of those ratings look a little high to me, for MY palate, but to each his/her own.

I'd encourage you to taste these HV wines for yourself. You might find some you like.

Anonymous: Before drawing conclusions, you should visit the Hudson Valley wine Region and taste some wines yourself. The quality of the wines in the region have improved immensely in the past 5-8 years.

I wouldn't be do quick to pass judgment. Ratings are a matter of opinion.

Personal opinion or not, anyone running a site like that one should know enough about wine to do so.

I imagine he'd give out a lot of 100-point scores if he tasted some of the great wines of the Finger Lakes.

Anonymous: Anyone can but up a website about anything. It's up to the consumer at large to do their research. Cavaet Emptor.

I am not one to pass judgment on a site or tear someone apart. If you feel this strongly, this forum isn't the place. You should go to his website and take it up with the contact person.
