The wines entered were from all over the world. On the last day, I had a flight of Sherry. I never really knew Sherry as an after-dinner drink like I knew Port. I’ll never forget the romance I felt after the first sip. I was hooked. So hooked that I didn’t let them take the glass of Sherry away as I wanted to finish it when the competition was over.</span></p>

<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial';">Orange Muscat, is a grape variety that boasts a fusion of orange and apricot flavors that fascinate the senses in a surprisingly delightful way. <p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial';">The winemaking process for Orange Muscat is a meticulous art. The grapes undergo one to two days of skin contact at a low temperature before being pressed and fermented, bringing out the unique apricot-orange flavors. Aging in French oak barrels adds to its rich, vibrant taste and golden appearance.</span></p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial';">Its natural sweetness sets Orange Muscat apart, with grapes maturing to at least 23% sugar content. I served this with Shrimp and Grits, and it was a perfect meal!</span></p><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin: 0px; text-indent: 18px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;"><br /></span></p>

<p><br /></p><p>Transcript: </p><p> I wanted to talk to you today about an article in
the <a href="https://www.thedailycatch.org/articles/staatsburgs-milea-vineyard-plans-expansion-a-wine-club-and-culinary-offerings-as-it-reimagines-aquisition-property-for-a-new-age/">Daily Catch. org</a>. It was written by Scott Davis and full disclosure, I am
quoted twice in the article. The article is about Milea Vineyard's plans with
Clinton Vineyards. And if you're not already aware, Clinton Vineyards was
purchased by Malaya in 2022.</p><p class="Script"><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">And it was a great article, talks about Phyllis and Ben Feder,
how they started Clinton Vineyards, with the Seyval Grapes, because they knew
that the Save All Grapes grew well on that property. And they made Meth and
Champagnois, still wine. So what they plan on doing with the Clinton Vineyards
property is make it a sparkling wine house.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">Now, I thought that was great when I first started to read it.
I'm like great because Long Island has Sparkling Point. They make sparkling
wines from grapes grown in Long Island and we have Hearts and Hands that
focuses on sparkling wines in the Finger Lakes. So why not in the Hudson
Valley? Well, as I read deeper, here's what I don't agree with.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">They are going to create a label called Hudson Valley
Vineyards. And in that label, you're going to have the left bank and the right
bank. So I thought, oh, that's great! They're going to designate grapes from
the right side of the river and the left side of the river. Because the Hudson
River can be a great divide.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">But no. The right bank is going to be the focus of sparkling
wines made with New York grapes. The left bank is going to be sparkling wines
coming from Oregon. Don't know if they're coming already made or if they're
coming and going to be finished at Clinton Vineyards. Honestly, I am unclear on
that.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">However, when people go out wine tasting in the Hudson Valley,
they want to taste wines made in the Hudson Valley. They want to taste wines
that the winemaker can speak to, the tasting room staff can speak to, that have
the terroir of the Hudson Valley and when you're bringing in grapes from
Oregon, you know, or already finished sparkling wine from Oregon.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">You're messing with the integrity of Hudson
Valley wines and Hudson Valley wine region. And if people want to go and taste
Oregon sparkling wine. They're going to do one of two things. They're either
going to go out to Oregon and go wine tasting and purchase sparkling wines and
bring them home or they're going to go to the liquor store and they're going to
purchase a sparkling wine from Oregon.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">Um, I disagree with that. The Hudson Valley is viticulture.
We have wonderful winemakers. We have wonderful vineyards and Why bring Oregon
wine into the Hudson Valley to sell? There are so many opportunities to purchase grapes from New York State and making sparkling wine and even just
purchasing grapes within the Hudson Valley and making wonderful sparkling wines
with them <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">Why are you going to bring Oregon sparkling wine to the Hudson
Valley, include it in some type of wine tasting, and put it on a label that
says Hudson Valley Vineyards. The grapes are coming from Oregon. So, like I
said, I don't usually get my point of view known because I keep to
myself.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="Script">But this really got my panties in a bunch because I love the
Hudson Valley. It's my baby. The wine region is wonderful. There are new
wineries. There are younger winemakers. They're experimenting with different
varietals. , and it's just a wonderful place for wine tasting. Bringing Oregon wine into the Hudson Valley to sell out of a tasting room messes with the whole integrity of our region that we have spent a long time building up.<o:p></o:p></p>

I am not saying that because I’m the Hudson Valley Wine Goddess. This comprehensive guide leaves no grape unturned in profiling over 70 varieties that thrive in cool-climate wine regions. Not only does it profile the grapes, but it also profiles the history, the nurseries, growing conditions, vineyard management, and the people behind the grapes. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">𝘼 𝙜𝙡𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: Two chapters are dedicated to New England grape breeders. Some grape DNA updates. Concord is an offspring of Catawba and Catawba is half vinifera. This book will give you an appreciation of the history of the Hudson River Valley AVA and the people and nurseries behind it. You will understand the growing conditions, vineyard management, and winemaking process well. It’s not just about the Hudson Valley. You will learn and better understand grape breeding and hybridizers with the who, what, where and why. I embarked on a mid-week wine-tasting journey, expecting to experience the warmth and knowledge that has always accompanied such excursions. Although the wineries were dog-friendly (a bonus for us traveling with our Boykin Spaniel, Gigi), the wine-tasting experience lacked the personal touch that had previously been so integral to our wine adventures. Only two flight options were available, red or white, and the opportunity to explore unique grape varieties like Tannat and Petit Manseng was limited. The biggest issue, however, was the absence of the engaging, knowledgeable staff we had come to appreciate. Instead, we were handed our flights, took them outside to taste, returned them, and left with a simple "Thank You."</span></p><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVEXVJqsm_NV_gXhr6QJzvcdh5Y9W3vjcEiGGovwjSLMSHIc3tfI-9PXaoH48Hbriw5wyBPhsC-QQjT7Ba7h45b1F49goGAubSFSBh1VMt5D1KCWcxX10P3qQD-NZRQ2FLrzTcWxKNiVrpCE8Ne0Xc4xbudNGxo7BcjHCvV5lNx3Hi7Vc10yuweR2-JUE/s4032/Photo%20Oct%2009%202023,%2011%2034%2033%20AM.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVEXVJqsm_NV_gXhr6QJzvcdh5Y9W3vjcEiGGovwjSLMSHIc3tfI-9PXaoH48Hbriw5wyBPhsC-QQjT7Ba7h45b1F49goGAubSFSBh1VMt5D1KCWcxX10P3qQD-NZRQ2FLrzTcWxKNiVrpCE8Ne0Xc4xbudNGxo7BcjHCvV5lNx3Hi7Vc10yuweR2-JUE/s320/Photo%20Oct%2009%202023,%2011%2034%2033%20AM.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span><p></p>

The personal touch, the hospitality, and the connection with the winery and its history elevate wine tasting from a mere here you go, hope you like it, to a memorable journey. In Virginia, I longed for someone to explain the wines, share the winery's story, delve into the soils and growing conditions, what grows well, and transport me into the world of each vineyard's unique terroir. These connections are not just niceties; they are the essence of the wine-tasting experience, enriching our understanding of the wines we taste and creating a connection and lasting memories. Perhaps even a wine club membership.</span></p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 14pt; font-weight: 600;">Bringing Back the Personal Touch</span></p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 14pt;">As a restaurant owner, I understand the value of personal touches in creating memorable guest experiences. As my servers get to know customers and make their dining experience special, wineries can do the same. Here are some simple solutions to bring back the personal touch to wine tasting:</span></p>
<ol style="-qt-list-number-prefix: ''; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin: 0px;"><li style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 18px;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Engage with Guests: Tasting room staff should engage with customers, ask about their preferences, and share insights about the wines tasted. Stop by the table at least twice to check on them. See what they like and if they have questions.</span></li>
<li style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 18px;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Tell the Story: Wineries should take the opportunity to share their history, the journey of winemaking, and the unique characteristics of their wines and vineyards. </span></li>
<li style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 18px;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Offer Variety: Providing a broader range of flight options if available, especially unique or regional varieties, can pique customers' interest and enhance their experience.</span></li>
<li style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 18px;"><span style="font-size: medium;">Educate and Connect: Offer information about the grapes, growing conditions, and winemaking processes. Establish a connection between the wine and its origin. </span></li></ol>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 14pt;">In my recent wine-tasting adventure, the absence of a personal touch left me yearning for the days when wine-tasting was not just about the wine but also about the stories, the knowledge, and the connections. I know staff is hard to find. Educate and train the ones you have, find out what the customer likes, and see if they want to join a wine club. We were never asked those questions. </span></p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 14pt;"> Let's bring back the personal touch, one pour at a time. It only takes a few minutes to make someone feel special and make that connection and sale.</span> <!--EndFragment--></p>hvwinegoddesshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03132954171408880411noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7604353857384090704.post-39464803216907110912023-10-26T07:12:00.001-04:002023-10-26T07:12:00.157-04:00Indulge in the Virtual Journey to Argentina's Malbec Magic with Winephabet Street!<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin: 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 14pt;"><br /></span></p><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin: 0px; text-indent: 0px;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBtMbAOddmBc-SyM92WMcTZGWERXuDP-k1wbqyt6W208ktxZ0x_8nAjW9seScty-7ZYVPJCiCezCYLG9LH6s2WbXBqlwvg6S4LfBohE3KPjHM9Guoym3sS03iTQop3L5ylP_bG7SCkjNyN8NI4HrZdbqW7zjxqaa5k-EL8Zwtyokz5gleoOlT6C6WK17k/s4032/Photo%20Sep%2018%202023,%2012%2044%2009%20PM.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBtMbAOddmBc-SyM92WMcTZGWERXuDP-k1wbqyt6W208ktxZ0x_8nAjW9seScty-7ZYVPJCiCezCYLG9LH6s2WbXBqlwvg6S4LfBohE3KPjHM9Guoym3sS03iTQop3L5ylP_bG7SCkjNyN8NI4HrZdbqW7zjxqaa5k-EL8Zwtyokz5gleoOlT6C6WK17k/s320/Photo%20Sep%2018%202023,%2012%2044%2009%20PM.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 0px; margin: 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 14pt;">Join us on our journey to South America, where the rich soils of Argentina have produced some of the world's best Malbec wines with guest Veronica Kathuria from Wines of Argentina.</span></p>

Josh Cellars, known for crafting balanced, high-quality wines, produces a rosé that's brimming with bright notes of strawberry, white peach, and hint of grapefruit. Its soft refreshing acidity and hint of minerality make it a perfect match for the rich, firm texture of the white tuna.</p>

When you first take a sip of the rosé, the soft flavors prepare your palate for the slightly briny flavor of the white tuna. The olive oil's smoothness complements the wine's slight acidity, balancing it out and creating a nice pairing in your mouth.</p><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqYGA12LunAlvVrp8FTN1HNhR-nnkWqS_4gssfcQyngG_2aBbImi5ItNrNV8Jksw7q6VbXVNPc6pOLgHQdtkd4osZnYLFfj6fDrbW7dJLlE9tiPUv1pp_wKucOiwSIE_wTiZ8MBr6fkbgONyJy02CmMgE78WB3CJBDwR3rfCJyBDPBjY8Q6gZ14VdeGy8/s4032/Photo%20Jul%2011%202023,%202%2005%2002%20PM.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqYGA12LunAlvVrp8FTN1HNhR-nnkWqS_4gssfcQyngG_2aBbImi5ItNrNV8Jksw7q6VbXVNPc6pOLgHQdtkd4osZnYLFfj6fDrbW7dJLlE9tiPUv1pp_wKucOiwSIE_wTiZ8MBr6fkbgONyJy02CmMgE78WB3CJBDwR3rfCJyBDPBjY8Q6gZ14VdeGy8/s320/Photo%20Jul%2011%202023,%202%2005%2002%20PM.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><br /></p>

The Fleurs de Prairie, is from Provence, a region famous for its rosé wines, has an elegant bouquet of wild fresh strawberries, citrus, and hints of lavender. It has a soft crispness with a beautiful, lingering finish that makes it an ideal match for the more robust sardines.</p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;">Siesta Co.'s sardines are rich, packed with a delightful oceanic flavor, and preserved in high-quality olive oil. This gourmet delight imparts a dense, texture, with a hint of sea salt that goes nicely with the fruity and floral notes of the rosé. Honestly, this pairing was a bit difficult. I put on my big girl pants and bit into the sardine. It was a first for me and most likely my last sardine. But for the sardine lovers, have at it! </p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;">Both pairings demonstrate that canned fish be a highlight of an afternoon on the boat, especially when paired with a well-chosen wine. The play between the fruitiness and acidity of rosé wines and the rich, savory nature of canned fish creates a nice pairing.</p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;">Whether you're planning a casual lunch, a picnic, or boat ride, these pairings travel well. All it takes is a bit of imagination, a nice bottle of rosé, and the premium canned fish offerings from Siesta Co. to enjoy a nice wine and fish pairing wherever you may be.<!--EndFragment--></p>hvwinegoddesshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03132954171408880411noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7604353857384090704.post-76633132827362806032023-07-18T12:40:00.009-04:002023-07-18T12:40:00.140-04:00Uncovering the Heritage of Valdo Prosecco: A Journey into Floral Rosé Brut and Marca Oro Brut Prosecco Doc<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7T-3nmX0-nDzWC4ZSTBgF1-FzRhq5QO9Iz-QXXA1dCD-GKfaP8M3kxaEjyxMUYH6Az274_OtTY4MRnO8oGwE9lsfoyDMatjznWt4ZkLZlvdRYzxb_japB1b0DVuzHSeHeYzLz5RyR8NwabTNoA1eHlcKOJgy6iQhRN4BlY3VvgW3vE2S9opfQjqpuFX4/s4032/Photo%20Mar%2012%202023,%204%2038%2000%20PM.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="4032" data-original-width="3024" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7T-3nmX0-nDzWC4ZSTBgF1-FzRhq5QO9Iz-QXXA1dCD-GKfaP8M3kxaEjyxMUYH6Az274_OtTY4MRnO8oGwE9lsfoyDMatjznWt4ZkLZlvdRYzxb_japB1b0DVuzHSeHeYzLz5RyR8NwabTNoA1eHlcKOJgy6iQhRN4BlY3VvgW3vE2S9opfQjqpuFX4/s320/Photo%20Mar%2012%202023,%204%2038%2000%20PM.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p></p><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><!--StartFragment--><span style="font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 12pt;">Every year, the beautiful Italian town of Valdobbiadene paints a picturesque tableau of lush, green vineyards against a pristine blue sky, with rolling hills housing an Italian secret - the Valdo Prosecco winery. Nestled within this idyllic landscape is a timeless tradition of viniculture, where each bottle encapsulates the magic of Italian terroir, heritage, and centuries-old wine expertise. Two wines stand out at the heart of this tradition: the Floral Rosé Brut and Marca Oro Brut Prosecco DOC.</span></p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 12pt;">For over 90 years, the Valdo Prosecco winery has upheld an unwavering commitment to creating sparkling wines that symbolize the essence of the Valdobbiadene region. In 1858, Madame Louise Pommery took over as head of Pommery & Greno after the death of her husband. She had a vision that changed the path of Champagne. Champagne used to be sweet and she thought it should be dry. Madame Pommery introduced the concept of dry Champagne and became the trailblazing spirit paving the way for a new era of Champagne. Champagne defined by elegance and finesse.</span></p>

I will say, since Covid, I really like the new wine-tasting experience. Yes, some wineries you still belly up to the tasting bar, but many have seated tasting. I found the seated tasting much more enjoyable. Reservations are usually required, so if you are planning a tour, I would suggest giving each winery a 2-hour window and take into consideration the travel time from point to point. The best days to go tasting are any days but Saturday and Sunday. </span></p><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;"><br /></span></p><p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaOlL1QuBPk_S7wFqQoHIzN0k1FdzGqSEzfAwTNR4INg45xHuKBv4r2CSb_70KeMTBbHMQ4tq8RLQnTU5cK3Z51SuxixiEbIOVS9yjjp8w7Ob3xK_1gDm_-37ggp8f0i4qwDlQl9riREwwVXx__Dxbin1LoQLAqgtIYVKzlI3Mk7ZcRaKH2ENF7ELS/s4032/Photo%20Apr%2018%202023,%204%2043%2039%20PM.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3024" data-original-width="4032" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaOlL1QuBPk_S7wFqQoHIzN0k1FdzGqSEzfAwTNR4INg45xHuKBv4r2CSb_70KeMTBbHMQ4tq8RLQnTU5cK3Z51SuxixiEbIOVS9yjjp8w7Ob3xK_1gDm_-37ggp8f0i4qwDlQl9riREwwVXx__Dxbin1LoQLAqgtIYVKzlI3Mk7ZcRaKH2ENF7ELS/s320/Photo%20Apr%2018%202023,%204%2043%2039%20PM.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;"><br /></span><p></p>

This was the perfect meeting place for me and my friend Sharon (also turning 60) as I drove up from New Jersey and she from Boston. Long Island Wine Country is a good 2 hours from Manhattan. As you drive east on the LIE, the scenery goes from, concrete to congested to country. Wine Country. The region is home to over 57 wine producers dotting the North and South Forks.</span></p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;">Upon arrival, you'll find yourself in a maritime climate with sandy soils, allowing the region to cultivate a vast array of grapes focusing on Bordeaux varietals and blends. Here, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon grow well as do Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. </span></p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;">I will go into more detail on the wineries I visited, but give you an idea on how to plan your tour, we met at 1pm at Lieb Cellars and had a nice tasting with a beautiful charcuterie board. Many of the wineries offer cheese plates and charcuterie boards. We then went to Bedell Cellars before heading to our hotel in Greenport.</span></p>
<p style="-qt-block-indent: 0; margin-bottom: 12px; margin-left: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-top: 12px; margin: 12px 0px; text-indent: 0px;"><span style="font-family: 'Arial'; font-size: 12pt;">Day 2 began with bubbles at Sparkling Point.Our next appointment wasn’t until 2pm at Pindar Vineyards, so we stopped at Lenz for a quick tasting right next door.
